Career as a Case Manager
Do I want to be a Case Manager?
Yes, a career as a case manager is something I would consider since the job is aimed at ensuring that people get the services they require by organising their care. Case managers are significant in assisting the patient to manoeuvre the complicated healthcare systems, particularly those who have chronic conditions or those who need the assistance of more than one healthcare provider (Missel et al., 2025). The case managers can organize services and keep track of patient progress and hence ensure that patients are given consistent and well-coordinated care.
Reasons for My Choice
This is one of the reasons why I would sit and reflect on this career, as it would allow me to work in close connection with the healthcare professionals, patients, and their families. There should be good communication between the various healthcare providers to provide safe and good care. Case managers are useful in enhancing this communication by making sure that the important patient information is communicated and the care plans are adhered to accordingly. The other reason is that case management has the ability to enhance patient outcomes. According to research, well-organized and patient-centered care driven by case management can lead to fewer cases of hospital readmission and future patient satisfaction (Giardino & Jesus, 2023). On the whole, the case management profession would enable healthcare specialists to apply their clinical expertise, communication, and organizational skills to assist patients and enhance the quality of healthcare services provision.
