Reflection of Self-Appraisal Working Style

Reflection of Self-Appraisal Working Style

  1. My Working Style and Reaction to the Results

Having done the Working Style Questionnaire, I determined that my style of work is structured, detailed, and reliable. These findings were not new to me, but they gave me a more accurate idea of the extent to which I depend on the value of organization and planning at work. My second point of interest was that I am very fond of making plans beforehand instead of just adjusting to the situation, which proved a point I had realized but not admitted fully. I have a tendency to be prepared and plan before starting work and concentrate more on doing work correctly instead of faster. I also understood that I am more stable and predictable than I had realized before. On the whole, the questionnaire supported the fact that the necessity to be structured is not a mere habit, but also a primary component of my effective performance.

  1. How My Working Style Helps and Holds Me Back

The workplace style of my work is advantageous to my team and me. I am trustworthy and consistent, and this aspect develops trust and ensures that the tasks are done on time. This is because my attention to detail minimizes errors and enhances the quality of work. My tendency to recheck work in the past group situation has enabled me to avoid errors that might have slowed down the working process or resulted in errors being corrected at a later stage. It is also natural to me to be proactive when it comes to task and expectation structuring. But then again, it is the same working style that is a drag to me. I occasionally waste time on being perfect, and this may deter progress. I also have a problem with flexibility when unplanned changes take place, and delegation can be a problem for me since things should be done a certain way.

  1. Working Style That Is Easiest for Me to Work With

The kind of working style that I comfortably work under is one that is organized, responsible, and goal oriented. I can cooperate best with those who express themselves, adhere to time limits, and fulfill the responsibilities of their roles. When it comes to collaborating with individuals with the same level of organization structure and dedication, cooperation is rather effective and stress-free. Confusion is reduced, and little follow-up is done to perform tasks. Simultaneously, alternative ways of working, particularly the hardest ones for me, can be a nice source of creativity and a new perspective as well, which would enhance the overall team performance.

  1. Working Style That Is Most Difficult for Me to Work With

My least preferred style of working is the disorganized or inconsistent style of working. When the team members are uncoordinated, keep on switching plans or missing deadlines, this gives frustrations and derails the working process. I struggle to fit when there is no clarity of expectations or when it is constantly changing. Although there is a variety of working styles that come with different strengths, not all people work in the same manner. This has been a reflection that has made me understand the significance of being flexible. In the future, I would like to be more proactive and work on becoming more flexible to adapt to unforeseen changes and learning to relinquish the desire to have full control in groups. I will also be more deliberate in putting my trust in the methods of others, even though I have strengths of my own.
