Module 1: Journal Entry

Learning Style- VARK Learning Style (Kinesthetic Learner)

Learning about my learning style as a moderate kinesthetic was a significant revelation because I had the opportunity to understand the most effective ways of absorbing information and retaining it. These experiences have always found a place in my nursing practice, where I have had an opportunity to learn via practical experiences, simulation, and resolving real-life issues that are not merely passive reading. This has brought my attention to the fact that experiential learning is relevant in clinical and leadership learning. Scientifically, it is established that the learning strategies should be made effective on the basis of consistency with the personal learning styles, and the retention and application of the knowledge should be improved (El-Saftawy et al., 2024). I will also seek greater forms of interactivity in future learning and engage in hands-on means of education delivery to others to facilitate learning processes.

Guardian Role Keirsey Temperament Sorter.

The Keirsey Temperament Sorter has indicated that I am a Guardian, and this confirms that I am responsible, well-organized, and committed to patient safety. I have been practicing in terms of structure, reliability, and adherence to protocols in my nursing practice because this constitutes a significant portion of the attainment of high standards of care. This module also made me understand that I must be malleable to an extent, but at the same time, have some order when handling various teams. The familiarity with the personality types enhances teamwork and leadership. It is a lesson that I will take into consideration in the future to change my way of leadership, promote teamwork, and support other working styles by team members.

Evidence-based selection of Articles.

The selection of the appropriate scholarly articles was also a learning process, as it was centered on the significance of evidence-based practice in nursing. In my place of work, tradition can sometimes influence the available Evidence, circumscribing the efficacy of care by influencing the decisions that are made. The relevance, applicability, and credibility of the sources were identified as important in this module (Agure et al., 2024). EBP improves patient outcomes and partakes in informed decision-making. These competencies will be applied in the future to ensure that my clinical decision-making practice and leadership initiatives rely on quality research.

Module 2: Journal Entry

Bloom’s Taxonomy

The Taxonomy provided by Bloom provides a clear framework to develop the learning objectives and also to evaluate the outcomes. Education has been given at times in my nursing practice without clear objectives, and it is not very easy to ascertain its effectiveness (Ogbeide et al., 2025). This module has also emphasized the importance of employing action-based verbs so as to be able to derive measurable learning outcomes—the application of Bloom’s Taxonomy results in education enhancement and development of critical thinking. I will apply this framework in the future during staff education and training on the leadership program to improve learning and assessments.

SMART Goals

The SMART goals are needed to transform the broad concepts into specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound goals. My workplace goals become vague and limit the chances of responsibility and assessment of performance. This module pointed out the fact that SMART goals improve the effectiveness and clarity of plans and implementation. This is backed by the goal-setting theory that states that particular goals will encourage performance and motivation. I will apply the SMART principles in the future in quality improvement initiatives and leadership programs to ensure that they are well guided and have a measurable outcome.

Project Objectives

Project objectives formulation fills the gap between the theoretical and real practice. Well-laid-out goals will help to improve the effectiveness and consistency of the results in my nursing practice. Within this module, the objectives were aligned with the organizational objectives and audience needs. Certain objectives contribute to the performance and evaluation of the program (Kim & Im, 2024). The future will involve systematic methods directed towards me, such that clear and measurable objectives will be set to enable the nursing project and initiatives to be more successful.

Module 3: Journal Entry

Introduction Outline Development.

The fact that I developed a content outline was positive because it revealed that the information should be organized in a well-constructed and logical manner. The sequence of education activities is not a constant in my nursing practice, and this determines the status of knowledge and engagement. The module helped me realize that a proper outline will make things easier and help to ensure that key points are communicated. Learning and remembering knowledge is enhanced by planning (Fonseca et al., 2025). In developing instructional programs and leadership talks, I will use content outlines in the future to ensure that they are logical and efficient.

Presentation Strategies

The presentation plan must be useful in capturing the learners and improving behavior change. The practical usefulness of lectures in the different educational programs in my workplace may prevent interaction and learning. This module revealed the problem of interactive strategies, such as discussions and visual aids. The engagement and comprehension can be improved with the help of active learning strategies. I shall also capitalize on interactive methods in teaching to ensure that it is more interactive and to enable evidence-based practice in the future.

Nursing Administration

The translation of Evidence into practice and improving the healthcare outcomes is also another area of nursing administration. In my example, administrative projects are unsuccessful due to poor communication or the absence of evidence-based support. This module pointed out the nature of leadership, planning, and good dissemination of information. It needs proper leadership in implementing sustainable change (US & Page, 2026). I will also accept the application of Evidence-based leadership in the future to improve the level of staff participation, retention, and overall organizational performance.

Module 4: Journal Entry

Resume Writing

The art of writing resumes is required as it shows professional identity, qualifications, and career advancement of a nurse. In my nursing practice, I have discovered that the need to maintain and organize their resume is not taken seriously by most nurses due to the fact that it lessens the chances of receiving career elevation. The necessity to make a resume more specialized, targeting leadership skills, clinical competencies, and involvement in the evidence-based practice was also highlighted in this module. A professional resume is good to increase employment and professional mobility in the healthcare system (Gary, 2023). I will also ensure that my resume is always updated in the future to demonstrate my skills, certifications, and leadership experiences to allow me to achieve greater roles in nursing administration.

Professional Organizations

Professional organizations are needed to encourage nursing practice, the lifelong learning process, and provide networking opportunities for careers. Most nurses, in my case, do not belong to professional organizations, thereby limiting their access to the recent trends, changes in policy, and leadership opportunities. This course has demonstrated that being involved in organizations facilitates professional growth and evidence-based practice. The professional development and competence in leadership have been associated with involvement in a professional organization. I will also participate and be a member of other relevant nursing organizations in the future as a way of furthering my knowledge to serve the profession and to be abreast of the changes in the healthcare sector.

Cultural Considerations

Culture is an important aspect that contributes to equal and patient-centered care. The nursing practice showed me the situations when cultural differences influenced the communication between nurses and the patients, their choices, and the ultimate care outcomes. This module has observed the nature of cultural competence, including the fact that he or she has to honor the beliefs, values, and practices of various groups of patients. Culturally competent care has been established to result in improved patient satisfaction and health outcomes (Theodosopoulos et al., 2025). Through a lifetime learning process and culturally sensitive approach to patients, I will strive to become more culturally aware in the future to ensure that every patient is treated with respect and individuality.

Module 5: Journal Entry

Effective Evaluation Tools

Effective evaluation tools play a very important role in scrutinizing the effectiveness of the educational initiatives and practice changes. In my nursing practice, there are no systematic or unsystematic evaluations, which do not give an opportunity to evaluate the consequences and improve the processes. This module has highlighted that structured evaluation tools provide objective data, which could be employed in making a decision and quality improvement initiatives. Good evaluation of programs enhances accountability and program efficacy in healthcare (Abram et al., 2025). To obtain quantifiable outcomes and continuous improvement, in the future, I will adopt plausible and sound assessment measures whenever implementing teaching or leadership plans.

Feedback Analysis and synthesis.

In the identification and assessment of intervention effectiveness and improvement, feedback analysis and synthesis play a significant role. At the location where I am working, feedback is often collected but not measured and put into appropriate action to bring change. This module also illuminated the role of feedback interpretation, enabling nurse leaders to make effective decisions and improve their practice. The improvements that are based on feedback have been shown to result in higher staff satisfaction and better patient outcomes (Fuentes-Cimma et al., 2024). I will also strive to develop, read, and apply feedback information in the future to enhance the educational programs, leadership styles, and clinical practices.

Likert Scale Assessment Form.

A Likert scale is an effective tool for assessing attitudes, perceptions, and levels of satisfaction. In my example, assessment processes are oversimplified and are not meaningful in terms of information. This module highlighted the fact that Likert scales provide a systematic and measurable mode of measuring responses, and hence, it is easier to analyze the trends and results. The standardized instruments maximize the validity and reliability of the gathered data (Koo & Yang, 2025). Likert scale evaluation forms will enable me as a professional to provide feedback on the particular elements and provide the reasons behind the essential evidence-based modifications in the nursing education and leadership programs in my future practice.

Module 6: Journal Entry

Education Goals

To inform the formation of a profession and improve the nursing practice, it is required that clear education objectives be set. The experience that I have had in my case is the lack of learning activities based on specific objectives, which makes it difficult to measure progress. In this module, the necessity to have clear, measurable, and attainable education goals was brought to light. The goal-setting theory has indicated that structured goals are more effective in motivation and learning outcomes. I will define certain learning goals and work on them in the future to ensure professional growth and deliver improved care to patients.

Career Goals

Career ambitions are major factors in making a nurse successful and ensuring his/her success. In the course of my practice in nursing, I have understood that without appropriate career planning, there might be stagnation and a lack of promotion opportunities. This module highlighted the importance of aligning the career objectives, personal values, skills, and demands of the organization. Career planning is related to job satisfaction and professional achievement (Nashwan, 2023). I will also take the initiative of planning and working towards my career goal, particularly the nursing leadership and nursing administration aspects, in pursuit of enhancing my future career development and influence.

Advanced Practice Registered Nurses (APRNs).

APRNs have a role to play in increasing access to health care, quality, and patient outcomes. I have experienced the application of APRNs in making advanced clinical decisions and in the administration of patients. Another aspect that was noted in this module is the increasing role of APRNs in the healthcare system and how they are contributing to the efforts of eradicating workforce shortages. It has been found that APRNs provide high-quality care that is more affordable compared to the work of a physician (Mackavey et al., 2025). I will keep the prospect of advanced practice roles and collaborate effectively with APRNs to achieve improved patient outcomes and healthcare delivery in the future.

 Journal Entry

Module 1: Identify 3 key points from this Module. Reflect on how and why each point is important, how it impacts your work experience or nursing practice, and how you will change your practice in the future based on each key area.
Key Point 1      VARK Result – Mild Kinesthetic: It was essential to learn that my VARK assessment revealed I am a mild kinesthetic learner, since this helped explain how I best receive information. I have always been a learner who prefers communication through simulation, practice, and real-life problem-solving in my nursing practice, rather than reading. This realization has allowed me to appreciate my strengths as a learner and why experiential learning opportunities have been most significant during my RN-BSN coursework. In the future, I will be purposefully interested in leadership and administrative learning experiences that will enable me to be an active participant and to act upon them. Such a strategy will help me become better at applying theory to practical nursing practice and leadership behaviors.
Key Point 2      Kiersey Temperament Sorter – Guardian: The Keirsey Temperament Sorter, which classifies me as a Guardian, appealed to me greatly in terms of my professional values as a nurse. The guardians are more inclined to focus on responsibility, structure, and reliability, which aligns with my orientation towards patient safety, consistency, and accountability in the workplace. These characteristics have shaped my nursing practice by informing my approach to teamwork, adherence to policies, and leadership roles. This Module also made me realize that structure and adaptability should be balanced when working with diverse teams. This self-awareness will enable me to change my leadership practice and encourage more effective collaborative practice environments in the future.
Key Point 3      Selecting appropriate articles to support the capstone project: The choice of the right scholarly articles was a valuable learning experience, as it highlighted the importance of evidence-based practice in nursing leadership. Evidence-based research is more effective in developing practice changes in my workplace environment than tradition and opinion. The Module has reiterated the importance of assessing sources for relevance, quality, and applicability to real-life nursing issues. In the future, I shall use these skills to develop projects, policies, or educational programs so that decisions are evidence-based. This will enhance my ability to champion effective and sustainable change in healthcare organizations.
Module 2: Identify 3 key points from this Module. Reflect on how and why each point is important, how it impacts your work experience or nursing practice, and how you will change your practice in the future based on each key area.
Key Point 1      Bloom’s Taxonomy: The significance of Bloom’s Taxonomy is that it offers a taxonomy framework through which the learner can provide a systematic manner of defining what one should be able to accomplish upon acquiring education. Education in my practice as a nurse is provided without clearly defined outcomes, making it hard to determine whether the learning objectives have been achieved. Understanding the Taxonomy of Bloom helped me appreciate the importance of action-oriented verbs in teaching and assessment. The knowledge affects my practice by enhancing the way I develop staff education and leadership development programs. In the future, I will actively apply Bloom’s Taxonomy to develop learning objectives that are measurable, outcome-oriented, and aligned with the desired changes in nursing practice.
Key Point 2      SMART Goals: SMART goals are essential because they help transform progressive ideas into specific, measurable, and attainable goals. Goals in my workplace are sometimes stated in general terms, thereby limiting accountability and follow-up. This Module pointed out that SMART goals enhance clarity in setting expectations, targets, and evaluation methods. The SMART principles would enable me to become more effective in implementing leadership and quality improvement initiatives. I will also use SMART goals in administrative planning and staff development activities to enhance consistency, accountability, and outcomes in nursing practice.
Key Point 3       Project objectives: Developing project objectives was also a valuable learning experience, as it connected theoretical concepts with practical implementation. Well-defined goals provide guidance for learning programs and help ensure the intended results can be attained and measured. The lack of well-established goals in my nursing practice also led to uneven execution and inadequate effectiveness. This Module also highlighted the importance of aligning goals with the audience and organizational goals. In the future, I will consider this systematic method when developing projects or introducing change initiatives to improve the effectiveness, assessment, and sustainability of the nursing practice.
Module 3: Identify 3 key points from this Module. Reflect on how and why each point is important, how it impacts your work experience or nursing practice, and how you will change your practice in the future based on each key area.
Key Point 1 Content Outline: The process of creating the content outline of the Capstone Project was one of the most important learning experiences of this module since I had to make intricate ideas about leadership and retention into a coherent and teachable format. Within my nursing practice, I have noticed instances of education sessions that have failed due to a lack of flow of information and not always matched to outcomes. This module reaffirmed that the presence of a well-organized outline will ensure that the main messages will be conveyed in a clear way, and the learners will be able to relate evidence and practice. This is what allowed me to appreciate planning in the nursing administration even more. Upon staff education, leadership programs, and quality improvement projects in the future, I will use a structured outline of content to make sure that it is coherent, relevant, and has measurable results.
Key Point 2 Presentation Strategies: The other significant lesson that I acquired during Module 3 was the impact of presentation strategies on the engagement and behavior change of learners. To deliver evidence-based information understandably, a proper choice of strategy is necessary, including lectures, guided discussions, and visual aids. Educational programs in my workplace are usually lecture-based and non-interactive, and they can only limit the level of staff involvement and information retention. This module emphasized the need to address the audience differently, especially nurse leaders who can use discussion and the application of learning. In the future, I will actively use interactive approaches in delivering information, particularly in leadership and administration, to facilitate involvement, critical thinking, and evidence-based practice.
Key Point 3 Nursing Administration: Module 3 presented the importance of nursing administration in converting evidence into practice change. Formulating goals, plans, and dissemination plans solidified that leadership practices and administrative choices do have a direct impact on nurse retention and working conditions. During my nursing practice, I have noticed that the administrative initiatives fail in most instances when they have not been communicated or backed by evidence. This module reinforced the idea in me that nurse leaders need to be purposeful with regard to information sharing and implementation. I will use these principles in the future by basing my leadership approach on evidence-based principles, detailing my goals, and designing effective dissemination strategies to sustain nurse engagement, retention, and overall organizational performance.
Module 4: Identify 3 key points from this Module. Reflect on how and why each point is important, how it impacts your work experience or nursing practice, and how you will change your practice in the future based on each key area.
